Announced back in May this year, Android P is currently available on many smartphones as a Developer Preview Beta. Unlike previous times, certified partner OEMs can let their users try the operating system on the smartphones before its final release comes. Among the lengthy list, now there is a new inclusion- OnePlus 6. Chinese manufacturer OnePlus released the OnePlus 6 flagship smartphone several weeks ago. Within a couple of fo weeks after official launch, OnePlus impressively gained its entrée to the list of smartphone that gets Android 9.0 P Beta. How to install Android P on OnePlus 6
OnePlus, with their highly customizable OxygenOS based on latest Android OS, performed well before the consumers. They do usually give away the opportunities to try out the newest version of Android. Here is the easiest method to get the Android P Beta on your OnePlus 6. Please note that the Operations System does not come as an OTA update. But you need to flash it manually, like before.
- Download the official Android P Developer Preview ROM for OnePlus 6 from here.
- Copy the ROM file into the root folder of your smartphone storage.
- Now, go to Settings > System Updates > tap on the ellipsis (three dots) at the top right corner and choose Local upgrade > Choose the ROM file > Click on Immediately Upgrade.
- When the update finishes, power off the smartphone.
- Press and hold volume down+Power button to enter recovery mode, and factory resets the smartphone.
- Reboot the device, and you are all set.
Note: Before proceeding with the installation remember to make a backup of your device data and store it on external storage.

If you find the operating system much unstable and unlikely to the daily usage, you can easily roll back to the older version of the Operating System ran on your OnePlus 6. You can download and copy the rollback ROM to the smartphone and flash using above method.
Known issues when you install Android P on OnePlus 6
As the Operating System version is under development, the performance might not be as smooth as the previous state. The manufacturer itself warns about some of the known issues. So, go through this section before installing the OS. The nugs mainly affect the network components. Currently, no VoLTE and Wi-FI softApp are available, and Bluetooth is not compatible with every device you try to connect. Also, they admit the instability of Slow-motion video. And, incompatibility of HD video playback due to the lack of Widevine L1.
